Looks like I'll have to call Dell. I bought the monitor through Dell Outlet and it came with their advanced exchange program, so hopefully they'll be able to replace it quickly if this is a problem. I'm a bit late to the party, but just got my S2209W. I have it hooked up so that I have dual monitors with my Dell XPS M1530. The S2209W seems substantially darker than the laptop screen to these novice eyes. For example, if I have a browser open and I have it dragged midway between my laptop and the monitor, I notice a substantial drop in brightness from the laptop to the monitor. I have bumped the brightness setting to 100, but still no luck. Do you know if this is something I should expect from most other LCDs as well or is this a known issue with the S2209W?) Thanks again!
