Shame really, the unbranded/unlocked phones are the sweetest. I remember paying $15 to unlock my w600i one time so that I could try installing flash menus on it. Yeah, I was a hack. Haha. Thanks for sharing, Joanna!

I've had my LG Xenon for your final year, but I only lately discovered this internet site, Up till now, I certainly not actually looked into employing the cell phone as anything at all but a voice and SMS device, but whilst it was out for repair I had been applying a Motorola KRZR being a back-up and I definitely hated it. I'm also a former employee of Rogers Wireless, where by I had been a member in the Network Operations group; they are the ones responsible for that inter/intra-site transport, switching and base-station network. Whilst we certainly not got to play with too a great deal customer hardware, I do know for a fact there is 'un-branded' firmware obtainable for each telephone around. Before a carrier decides to carry any mobile phone they get a base model from your manufacturer that they demo and place as a result of tests - discovering a single of these demo units would possibly be much easier stated than completed nonetheless. Most with the time, they just get passed of to good friends or family members who don't even understand that the mobile phone is unlocked and unbranded.

qwerasdf: Good call, buddy! I was using the K850 as a specific example for its hype from way back when, but I guess the N95 would've been a valid example. In fact, I was citing the K850 because I recalled writing about it, but now that you mention it, I did mention the N95 as well. I'll throw it in the article, since you seem so eager about it.

Whether or not SE has gone down is more of an opinion: personally, I feel that SE is still riding on its success with the W580 and W810, but if they don't step it up they'll probably lose their edge they worked so hard to gain.

Thanks for your comment, and have a great day (or night, if you live in North America).

K850 is NOT the best cameraphone. The Viewty, Samsung whatever 5MP camera and the N95 all kill it. Just because it has Xenon flash doesh't mean it's that great. The N95 still wins in camera quality, but if you're talking in the dark, the N82 takes the crown because of its REAL Xenon flash. Ok and furthermore, SE has gone down. The K750 was a truly revolutionary 2mp product, but the world has caught up by now.
